The complex relationships between territory and society, including the meanings and practices of sustainable development continue to generate considerable theoretical debate and policy innovation. This RG will undertake theoretical and applied research within and across different disciplines to produce new insights into key areas of research in environmental social sciences, including the sustainability of cities, societal responses to environmental change, rethinking regional and local development, and landscape planning.
