Bio note

Margarida Pereira, Retired Associate Professor (NOVAFCSH). Full member of CICS.NOVA (FCSH/UNL) – Research Group – Cities, Environment and Regional Development. Degree in Geography (UL, 1976), PhD in Geography and Regional Planning – specialising in Territorial Planning and Management (UNL, 1995). In the Department of Geography and Regional Planning, she taught undergraduate, master's and doctoral courses in the fields of territorial planning, urban planning and spatial planning. She coordinated the Master's Degree in Territorial Management (2000-2006); the Bachelor's Degree in Geography and Regional Planning (2009-2013); and the Master's Degree in Sustainable Urbanism and Spatial Planning (by FCSH) (2011-2024). His research work has focused on the themes of spatial planning, metropolisation, housing, territorial cohesion and multi-scale governance. President of the Portuguese Association of Geographers (2008-2012) and member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Portuguese Urban Planners (2005-2008). Consultancy work for public administration (central, regional and local) and private companies (spatial planning, urban planning and commercial urban planning).
