Manon Garcia is a French philosopher and currently a junior professor of Practical Philosophy at Freie Universität Berlin. Her research focuses on political, moral, and feminist philosophy, with additional work on 20th-century French thought and the philosophy of social sciences. She is the author of We Are Not Born Submissive, and The Joy of Consent: A Philosophy of Good Sex. The latter was awarded the 2022 Prize of the Rencontres Philosophiques de Monaco, and selected among the 21 best books of 2021 by Télérama, the 12 best non-fiction books of 2021 by Libération, and the 15 best academic books of 2023 by The New Statesman.

In 2025, Garcia received the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Prize, Germany’s most prestigious award for early-career researchers. Her most recent book, Living with men: Reflections on the Pelicot Trial, has just been published in Portuguese.
