Nota Biográfica
Initially trained in Biology (University of Porto, Portugal), I have since specialised in social sciences approaches for addressing environmental issues (University of Leeds and Imperial College London, UK). I have over 15 years of experience in the social dimensions of natural resource management and biodiversity conservation, designing and implementing applied evidence-based projects with stakeholder engagement for resilient interventions. Key expertise includes the integration of social and ecological information to inform management and policy decisions. Working across academic and consultancy sectors, I conduct interdisciplinary research at the interface of social and natural sciences to address sustainability challenges. This is done in collaboration with researchers from world-class research institutions and international NGOs, as well as government agencies, local communities and regional environmental, health and development NGOs. Ultimately, I aim to contribute to the implementation of robust interventions focused on sustainable development.
