Bio note

Tânia Cristina Simões de Matos dos Santos has been a lecturer at the School of Education and Social Sciences of the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria (ESECS-IPL) since 2005. She obtained her PhD in 2010 from the University of Extremadura, Spain, where she presented her thesis entitled ‘Financial Solvency of Pension Systems in the European Union’. She graduated (in 2001) from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra and obtained (in 2006), from the same Faculty, a master's degree with the presentation of the thesis ‘Regional Disparities in Employment and Unemployment in Portugal’. She is a researcher at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Social Sciences of the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the New University of Lisbon (CICS.NOVA) – Leiria Campus. She has published several articles and participated in conferences related to entrepreneurship, social economy, pension systems, and financial education. She has been a lecturer at the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria since 2005.
