Bio note

Maria da Saudade Baltazar is a sociologist and Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at the School of Social Sciences, University of Évora. She is a member of the Board of Directors of CICS.NOVA and coordinator of RG3 – Urban and Territorial Dynamics. She coordinated CICS.NOVA.UÉvora (2015-2020). She is a member of the Board of RN27 – Research Network on Southern European Societies of the European Sociological Association. She is part of the coordination team of the Security, Defence and Armed Forces Thematic Section of the Portuguese Sociological Association. Since 1990, she has been teaching and researching in the areas of Development, Planning, Foresight, and Defence and Security, coordinating and participating in research projects funded by national and European funds. He has over two decades of experience in monitoring and providing technical support to community intervention projects, particularly in the design of diagnostic methodologies, strategic and social development plans, and the evaluation of social programmes and projects. He has published books and articles on his main areas of scientific interest.
