Bio note

Pedro Jorge Caetano, PhD in Sociology from Universidade Nova de Lisboa, focuses his research on the complex processes of student socialisation and teacher vocation, intercultural education, as well as the contemporary relevance of social theory (Simmel, Weber) and qualitative research methodology. With a degree in Sociology and Geography, he furthered his knowledge in Regional Planning and Human Geography. He is responsible for the application for the ‘DRAFTER’ project, funded by FCT. Co-editor at Routledge Publishing and Intersections Magazine, he is the author of articles on processes of inclusion, socialisation and innovation in educational contexts. He has been a lecturer in Geography and Sociology since 1998 and is an accredited trainer in Sociology of Education. An active member of Sociology associations, he collaborates on academic juries and in refereeing scientific journals.
