Bio note
Jorge Ricardo Ferreira is a professor in the Department of Geography and Regional Planning, Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, New University of Lisbon, and a researcher at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Social Sciences (CICS.NOVA). He holds a PhD in Geography and Regional Planning, New Technologies in Geography. He conducts research in the areas of Tourism, Smart Territories and Innovation Management, as well as Health. He is also a user of Geographic Information Systems, which he integrates across the board in his research. Author of numerous publications, he favours working in multidisciplinary teams, both in national and international publications. He has participated in projects funded by national institutions (FCT, Ministry of Internal Administration, Directorate-General for Transport) and international institutions (Horizon 2020 Programme, ERASMUS +, European Union). He has supervised more than a dozen master's dissertations and two doctoral theses in his main scientific area (tourism). He has been an external examiner for several doctoral examinations and/or doctoral qualification examinations at the University of Lisbon, the Information Management School and the Faculty of Arts of the University of Coimbra.
