Bio note
I have a PhD in Human Geography from the University of Barcelona (2009). From May 2019 to April 2025 I was an FCT Principal Investigator in Urban Geography at CICS.NOVA supported by the Scientific Employment Stimulus Programme of the Foundation for Science and Technology (CEEC 2017). I have also been Principal Investigator in Portugal for NOMADIC (MSCA Staff Exchange Action; 101183165). From May 2025 to the present, I have continued to collaborate with CICS.Nova as a senior researcher. During the period 2005-2024, I have published 116 academic papers related to my main research theme (the interaction between nightlife, tourism and urban change), as well as my two secondary research themes (The social geographies of youth in Euro-Mediterranean countries; and Environment, society and global change). As well as research, I work as a senior research consultant with associations of nightlife companies in Spain (Spain Nightlife) and internationally (International Nightlife Association).
