Bio note

João Eduardo Martins is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Algarve, where he teaches undergraduate, master's and doctoral courses in Sociology. He graduated in Sociology from the University of Évora. He completed his master's degree in Sociology at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the New University of Lisbon, specialising in ‘Educational Processes and Communities’, and obtained his PhD in Sociology from the same university, specialising in ‘Sociology of Culture, Knowledge and Education’. He also has a postgraduate degree in Human Resources Management and attended a postdoctoral programme in Sociology at the FCSH of Universidade Nova. His areas of scientific interest are the Political Sociology of Public Action, the Sociology of Education, Social Inequalities and Social Stratification, Work and Complex Organisations. He is a member of CICS.NOVA - Interdisciplinary Centre for Social Sciences at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the New University of Lisbon.
