Bio note
PhD in Cultural Studies from the University of Aveiro, Master's degree in Art and Education from the Open University, and Bachelor's degree in Socio-Educational Animation, with a specialisation in Local Development, from the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra. She is an assistant professor at the School of Education and Social Sciences of the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, a researcher at CICS.NOVA.IPLeiria and a collaborating researcher at CI&DEI and the Centre for Languages, Literatures and Cultures. She is a founding member and vice-president of the current board of the Ibero-American Network for Socio-Cultural Animation – Portugal. She is also a member of IRENNE – Association for Research, Prevention and Combating Violence and Exclusion. She has written several articles and book chapters, especially on community development, community education, social intervention, cultural accessibility, old age, leisure, culture, sociocultural and artistic animation, and cultural studies.
