Bio note
Assistant professor in the Department of Landscape, Environment and Planning | University of Évora, Portugal, since 1993. Degree in Biophysical Engineering (pre-Bologna, University of Évora). Master's degree in Regional and Urban Planning (Technical University of Lisbon). PhD in Regional and Urban Planning (Instituto Superior Técnico). Teaches various subjects related to Spatial and Landscape Planning, at different scales and perspectives of intervention, in bachelor's degrees (e.g. Geography or Ecology and Environment), master's degrees (e.g. Landscape Architecture and Conservation Biology) and doctorates. Researcher at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Social Sciences – CICS.NOVA.UÉvora and collaborating researcher at the Mediterranean Institute for Agriculture, Environment and Development (MED-UÉ). Author and co-author of several publications. Coordination and participation in various research projects. Supervisor of several master's and doctoral theses. Main research interests: Regional and Urban Planning, Land Use and Landscape Planning, Strategic Environmental Assessment, Public Participation Processes and Multi-criteria Decision Support Methodologies.
