Bio note

Berfu Güley Gören Soares is a researcher at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, with a multidisciplinary academic background covering spatial planning and urbanism, sociology, and architecture. She holds a PhD and a master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning, a bachelor's degree in the same field, and a second bachelor's degree in Sociology. She has carried out research and teaching at various higher education institutions in Europe and has also participated in international academic mobility programmes. Her research interests include accessibility, disability, inclusive and universal design, mobility, urban sustainability, and public space for all, with a special focus on the needs of people with disabilities, children, and the elderly. She has presented scientific papers at several international conferences and collaborates on European research projects focused on social inclusion, accessibility, and urban design sensitive to human diversity.
