She has a PhD in Education Sciences, in the area of Social Education and Socio-pedagogical Mediation, and a Master's Degree in Education Sciences - History and Current Problems of Education. She is currently a Coordinating Professor at the School of Education and Social Sciences (ESECS) of the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria (IPL), in the area of Social Pedagogy and Intercultural Mediation, and an Integrated Researcher at CICS.NOVA.IPLeiria.
Her research focuses on Social Education, Social Pedagogy, Intercultural Mediation, Sociopedagogical Mediation, Sociocultural Mediation, Social Work and Indiscipline, areas in which she has published in books, national and international journals. She is currently coordinating the degree programme in Social Education at ESECS-IPleiria.
