Bio note
She holds a bachelor's and master's degree in Sociology from the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the New University of Lisbon and a PhD in Education, specialising in Sociology of Education, from the University of the Azores. She is a lecturer at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the University of the Azores and a researcher at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Social Sciences, at the University of the Azores (CICS.NOVA.UAc/CICS.UAc). Her main area of research is the Sociology of Education, with a particular interest in the study of the relationship between families, children and young people and school, within the framework of public education policies, focusing mainly on social inequalities in schooling.
