The MOPLAND research team organizes the 2nd Participatory Workshop “Together for Sustainable Territories” to be held online on April 29, 2025, at 10:00 AM.

The Participatory Workshops “Together for Sustainable Territories” are part of the national project “MOPLAND: Co-creation of a Conceptual Model for Participatory Land Use Modeling Applied to Territorial Planning” (2023.00110.RESTART), funded by national funds through FCT/MCTES (PIDDAC), and developed by CICS.NOVA—Interdisciplinary Center for Social Sciences, Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, NOVA University of Lisbon.

These Participatory Workshops promote the active participation of the wider public in the spatial modeling process to anticipate how land use and occupation in coastal municipal territories might change. It will be an opportunity to discuss and co-construct future scenarios for land use and occupation in these territories.

The 2nd Participatory Workshop will consist of a brief presentation of the preliminary results from the previous event, followed by a presentation by Professor Eduardo Jonas Gomes, who will discuss how we can anticipate land use and occupation transformations through collaborative spatial modeling. The workshop will conclude with a discussion session with practical exercises (hands-on workshop) on the construction of desirable and/or possible future scenarios for coastal territories in light of current societal, environmental, and technological challenges.

Participation in the 2nd Participatory Workshop is free but requires prior registration here or through the QR code provided below.
