Goals:	Although the municipality of Cascais presents lower retention and dropout rates compared to both national and metropolitan area of Lisbon (AML) averages, the diagnosis made in the context of the elaboration of the Strategic Educational Plan for the County revealed significant gaps at this level and in school outcomes, both between public schools and between public schools and private schools considered as a whole. The goals of the project are: 1) to raise the awareness of the actors for this reality; 2) to identify clearly the causes of that problem; 3) to manage broad consensus on intervention strategies and firm commitments to the targets to be achieved; and 4) to ensure ongoing monitoring and self-regulation processes.
