Isabel Marcos, architect since 1989, Ph.D on Semiotics (1996), from Aarhus University, Denmark, PhD on Comunication Sciences (1999), from Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
The geography’s theory based on René Thom’s morphodynamic mathematics allows the articulation of 3 different fields (also named morphodynamic semiotics): theoretical geography (theories), representations’ geography (models), and applied geography (praxis). This researcher has been studying and developing this articulation since 1991, as the bibliographic data shows (https://www.isabelmarcos.net/references). The main research projects she is working on articulate morphodynamic semiotics with Thomian root (www.actuality-renethom.com), and object analysis, such as the conception of bordering and the visual representations of conspiracy theories (https://conspiracytheories.eu/). The results of these projects will be published in 2020-2022 by Routledge, Semiotica (éditions De Gruyter Mouton), Springer and Peter Lang (she is invited Editor).
