Frederico Ágoas is a researcher at CICS.NOVA FCSH and a postdoctoral fellow at FCT. He currently develops a comparative research project on the history of social sciences under authoritarian rule focusing both on Brazil and Portugal. He completed his doctorate in Sociology at Universidade Nova de Lisboa (2011) and was a postdoctoral fellow (2014) at Getulio Vargas Foundation (Brazil). He is a member of the ISA Research Committee on the History of Sociology (ISA RC08) and a member of the Network for the History of Empirical Social Research. At CICS.NOVA he co-organizes the permanent research seminar “Culture, Science and Politics in Portugal in the 20th Century”.
